The Book Wizard will run on any Apple Macintosh made in the last five years. Best performance will be achieved on a PowerMac, iMac, G3, or G4. A database containing 20,000 items of merchandise will require approximately 40MB of disk space. The Book Wizard uses 8.5MB of Ram. We recommend that you do not use a computer from the Performa series, as they were designed specifically for home and school use, and not for a business. Any Pentium class processor and 32MB of Ram will be adequate to run The Book Wizard efficiently. You can use Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows NT for the operating system. The only PCs that we have personal experience with are made by Dell Computer, and they have been very reliable. There are many, many fine PCs on the market today, with a wide variety of features and capabilities. PC Magazine, as well as other publications, carries reviews on dozens of computers. Please keep in mind that you will be using the computer all day, every day in your business. You won't be using it for editing home movies, playing the latest arcade games, or managing your music collection. Whatever computer you choose, make sure that it is designed for business and that it has a high reliability rating.
